Starting from NoobToob episode : 57 , retro gaming club title is Metroid Prime , which was a milestone in the long running Metroid series of games where the game shifted from a 2D action platformer to a full blown 3D FPS experience and that`s exactly why
this game has been picked for the RGC !

During the translation , maybe fans were eager but expecting the shift to 3D would steal the shine and feel of the 2D series but developers from Retro Studios managed to keep the game faithfull to the series 2D heritage and features that same eerie desolate feel as you experienced back on planet SR388 all those years ago .

Metroid Prime became one of the best selling Nintendo Gamecube titles and with good reason .
So far the game has spinned 3 sequels namely Metroid prime 2 : Echoes , Metroid Prime : Hunters and finally concluding the prima saga Metroid prime 3 : Corruption on the Nintendo Wii .
Unfortunatly , Corruption isn`t available on the Gamecube .
Wii owners who are enjoying Corruption should really pick up the previous two Gamecube titles since they are fully backwards compatible.

Gear up on your favorite console be it Cube or Wii , charge up your arm cannon and let the hunting begun !

A month too late. Before a new addition to a game comes out a replay the old ones so before Prime 3 came out I spent the time beating 1&2. This is my 4th favorite metroid game ever. I can point out little things to that but not wanting to look like an ass I'll just say Metroid Prime is not a FPS. It's and adventure game, hints the scanning aspect.

I got is and it is one of the best games I played it is amazing, graphics, powerups, the feel is great, but it is HARD so many puzzles to solve, I had to swallow my pride and find a walkthrough on some occasions it really forces you to think all in all great game love it 9.9/10 .1 of for the insane difficulty

I was playing Prime just before, I got Prime 3 and started to get into it. But, now I can't turn away from Prime 3, which has consumed me. I'll be going back to play it and Prime 2 which Ihave in the 2 disc special set. The first game is TOUGH with a lot less hints than Corruption gives you, you really have to keep thinking on your feet.

And yes, I am utterly confused when people think Metroid Prime is an FPS. Granted Hunters was, with some minimalistic exploration throne into a pretty basic single player game. Prime Hunters was really about going all out nuts on-line in multplayer, thus making it more an actual FPS.

But, the 3 main games are adventures, plain and simple. They play in almost the same way Zelda games play only in a science fiction based universe and from a 1st person point of view.

Anyway, in terms of Prime, Retro studios created an amazing trilogy of games and I'm sorry to see them leaving the title.

I bought this used shortly after getting my Wii. (I never had a Gamecube.)

It's kind of fun, but I got tired of the jumping puzzles and the battles where you're attacked by flying enemies. Death from above when I can't move and look up at the same time is not fun. It's as annoying as old 2d games where you get shot by something offscreen.

I don't have a GameCube anymore so I won't be able to play this game, when I had a GC I still didn't play it. It seems like a good game but i've always enjoyed the 2D ones more.
