Favorite/Most Remembered Game Song
  • What is your favorite video game song, or at least the one you remember the most? I want to hear about actual songs, not just little ditties like the Zelda "got an item" thing.

For me, at least in recent memory, it's gotta be the notorious Dead Rising Convicts' song, Gone Guru by Lifeseeker. I must have listened to that song about 20 times in the last week alone. (Yes, I sadly have an MP3 of it.) That or the battle theme from Lufia 2. Neither of these are necessarily my favorite, but I've been listening to them a lot recently.
  • I love pretty much every Mario Galaxy song, and the song from the cave of bad dreams from Rayman 2 is always in my head.
  • Ashley's Theme from Wario Ware Touched...

Never has a song gotten stuck in my head faster, nor stayed there longer than this one.

Also, there is supposedly a secret message in the song...

So, make of that what you will.

    :D

  • Nooooooo! I had totally forgotten about that one and here you go putting it back in my head!

    Muhahaha

    Here it is in Japanese...

It's catchy in both languages. WEIRD!!!

  • most memorable?

probably the ending theme to MGS1, The best is yet to come. It was the absolute perfect way to wrap up the game and totally captured everything that I was feeling after finishing the game. The first time i finished the game i got the ending where [spoiler:010fa37777] meryl died, yes i wimped out :( [/spoiler:010fa37777] and this theme was just about the most tragic, sorrowful and noble song i had heard in my life

Fun Fact, the song is done in Irish incase anyone didnt know :D
  • Green Green's from Kirby's Adventure (NES),
The music that plays when you're near a save point in RE 4.
    LoZ:Ocarina Forest Temple music
  • Its gotta be Still Alive i.e. the Portal Song
  • The DS version of the Ashley song is okay, but the SSBM version is way better:

    Also...

I have two songs that are memorable for me for different reasons:

Stickerbrush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2

This song represents many things. It represents the time I spent with my brother. He's like a best friend to me and we aren't as close as we were back in these days and we used to play the Donkey Kong Country's all the time. This was our favorite stage.

It also gives me memories of my Aunt Katie who passed away my freshman year of college. She absolutely loved Donkey Kong Country and actually bought my brother and I our first copy of the game. She is truly missed.

    Second:

    Megaman 2: Title Screen

Not only is this one of the coolest intro's in video game history, it was one of the best games too. The game has one of the best soundtracks to this day.

Secondly, a remix of the song was used for the intro to the BreakmanX "Game Show", the first video game podcast I ever listened to. It ran for like six years and they just had their final episode last month (they are coming back, but in a different show form without BreakmanX himself...who was a HUGE part of the show).

Anyway, it was the first podcast that I joined the forums for (the forums needed work and were NOTHING like NoobToob's forums) and it inspired me to get into podcasting and online radio (I used to run a live online radio show and currently produce a Heroes podcast).

    Sad, sad. :(

I forgot how AWESOME that song is. :D

And, Demiveeman, I am not a huge fan of the Brawl version of Ashley's song, because the voice actress isn't the same. Ashley needs her creepy, monotone, goth voice to make that work.

You're certainly right about Megaman 2 though.

  • nothing compares the CC:FFVII song Price of Freedom

  • Mine was the MGS2 theme.
Heres a shortened version of it on piano(the guy who plays it rocks a this instrument)
brings a tear to my eye every time i hear this video. lol

  • Still alive, and alot of the themes from Zelda OOT. like the forest and hyrule field.
  • For me it's the Super Mario Bros. theme. I played a shitload of that game with my dad when I was younger.
  • Its not my favorite, but this one is the most prominent at the moment. I happen to be playing some Super Metroid. I'll have to think about my favorite later, when this isn't looping through my mind.

  • My favorite would have to be "Humming the Bassline" from Jet Set Radio

although my favorite for the longets time was still alive and now you're a hero
  • My top 5:

  • Well offcourse I`ll have to go with the songs in the MGS series those are no brainers.
" the best is yet to come " from the ending of MGS 1, the bond-like "Snake eater" from MGS3 are my favorites.

Other favorites include but aren`t limited to :
" Lights " from Lumines, sung by Eri Nobuchika.
" Kiss me sunlights " , sung by "heart of air" from Zone of the enders 1
" Beyond the bounds " , sung by Maki Kimura from Zone of the enders 2

Surprisingly those that come to the top of my mind (4 of the above) are Hideo Kojima games :)
  • I'll usually buy soundtracks, because if I love the game then in time I usually love all the songs it has to offer, but If i had an all time favourite game song.....

    [spoiler:96b6cfafba][/spoiler:96b6cfafba]
  • I think Snake101 more meant actual songs, instead of BGM :-)
  • very well then, taste J-Pop!!!
