Mortal Kombat X Announced - Xbox one, PS4, PC, 360, PS3

  • (Taken from the site I write for, Pixel Gate)

The latest iteration in the Mortal Kombat universe just got announced
with Mortal Kombat X. For someone who really loved the 2011 Mortal
Kombat game for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC I can safely say that I’m pumped
and pretty sure that this will be the best MK game yet. The reveal
trailer doesn’t show too much except a fight between Sub-Zero, and
Scorpion (two of the titular characters in the series).

If what we saw in the trailer indicates what we’ll see in the game,
fans should be happy with the end product. It looks like they’re
bringing back environmental interaction, personal weapons, and that
amazing X-Ray system that we saw in the last release. I’m just really
curious as to what other features we’ll see in X. I’m hoping we see a
return of that fun ‘King Of The Hill’ mode that we saw in the 2011
release. That mode was a blast with a big group of friends online.

Mortal Kombat X is slated for a 2015 release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One & PlayStation 4.

  • The strangest music choice... Ever.  Wiz Khalifa doesn't match this at all lol.
  • I'm still excited dammit!
  • Why does Sub Zero always lose?
  • I loved the first 2 Mortal Kombat games and the last version was the fighting game I spent the most time with.

    I can't wait for this.
  • I actually really liked the music and thought it suited very well! xD I was never a fan of Mortal Kombat, but I'm more than willing to try it out.
  • Hopefully we see some of the characters who have had less screen time than others over the years such as Nitara, Hsu Hao, Frost etc.

I'd imagine they're more likely to appear in this game since they killed off most of the fucking cast in the last one.
  • @.Ethereal.

I'd like to see Gorro(sp?) and Kintaro return as playable characters.
  • @FirLocke It wasn't bad... It was just wierd.  I'd compare it to having an ANIMAL CROSSING trailer to Slayer lol.
  • I thought the trailer music suited it :(

Really good video by Max. Interesting points that he brings up! I remember watching some Injustice when Superman picked up a piano and threw it at the opponent and I thought, "Well, that's different." It looks like MKX is going to bring in some stage interactivity as well!
  • I'm glad to see a little bit of stage interaction coming back to MK.
  • Interesting to find out it's running UE4.

Looking forward to seeing more of it.
  • @amardilo sorry to disappoint you mate but they are using a heavily modified version of ue3 not ue4.

Ed boon talks about it in the e3 bombcast videos. He is the first guest on the final day.

Still saying that it looks great. The story sounds interesting too. Jumping around in time from the moment mk9 left off all the way to 25 years later. Apparantky that will show of some characters children and older versions of current characters.

  • The gameplay stuff looks solid too. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
