Listener Homework: List your rigs w/ 3dmarks
  • As mentioned in our last episode, list your PC rig specs here and what 3dmark you end up getting.

/me goes and downloads it right now..
  • I downloaded the 06 one and got a 3.6k score. Boo. My specs;

AMD Athlon X2 4200 (dual core, am2 socket, overclocked to 2.4ghz)
    4GB PC-5300 DDR2 Ram (for teh 24/7 bittorent, lol)
256MB ATI Radeon X1800 (I don't game on my pc... and I run windows classic theme on xp lol)
2xASUS uber DVD/CD Burners (for teh piracy)
    4x250gb Seagate Bar 7200rpm 16mb cache (for 1tb in space~)
2x5.1 Hi Def ASUS/Sound Blaster Sound Cards (i need two ok?)

I love my pc, cos even though it lags sometimes, its totally silent cos it has 3 layers of acoustic dampeners, 5x silent fans with micro filters to protect against dust and pumps a fucking shitload of hot air into my bedroom.
  • If you use 3Dmark you can automaticly upload the results to ORB or Online result browser .
After creating a (free) login you can publish your results so it produces a clickable URL like mine :

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=230808

So you dont need to list your rig`s specs since your full specs will already be listed on the compare url !

But to save you from clicking on the lick my score is : 7628 3DMarks in 2006

Damn you. I have a 7800 sitting on my desk but I can't use it in my new Dell because I don't have enough onboard power and don't want to replace the power supply.

Gwenster is the winner so far.

As I mentioned on the show, my 3dmark score is 3200. So far the loser.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. You need to run 3dmark on it and give us all jealousy over your numbers.

  • Here is my laptop specs/bench ..... and its one of those "sucky" dells ;-)

    Dell XPS m1710
CPU : Intel Core Duo T2500
    GPU : Nvidia Go 7900GTX 512 MB
    RAM : 1024 GB @ 667
    HDD : 100 GB
    Monitor : Dell 17" WUXGA (1920x1200)
OS : Dual boot XP mce and Vista beta 5744

    3dmark06 : 4644
  • Ack!! I am the new loser!!

My pitiful Dell Inspiron 6400 scores at 1843 :(

    But... considering:

CPU : Intel Core Duo T2500 1.6 ghz
    GPU : ATI x1400
    RAM : 1024 GB @ 667
    HDD : 100 GB
    Monitor : Standard
    OS: WinXP

Yup, a laptop. It does what I need it to do and thats to play WoW while I sit at work bored. For less than 800 USD I have Mobile WoW and it weighs less than a pair of boots. I refuse to even try my desktop. Although I do have a 6800XT sitting around unused if I want to upgrade my power in it. I don't, I would just rather build my own rig when I have the money... In the meantime this and Xbox work just fine.

u still havn't posted your scores, and it looks like from one of your recent posts that you have had a sort of a upgrade, cause you were talking about a resolution of 1920x1200 (all for supreme commander no doubt !)

so lets hear em dammit ;-)
  • I got like 8983, I think. I ran it and uninstalled, like I do every time. This was a few days ago.

And I forgot to close CS:S first.

How fast is that Seagate? Most peeps I know end up going with one of the 10krpm Raptors from Western Digital for their main OS/Game drives.

Other than that, pretty sweet setup. You actually getting two 8800's or just one? What's the total cost going to be?

the seagate is a 7200, but thats mainly going to be used for my films and MP3 etc, will probably get a smaller 10000 (or maybe even 15000) smaller HDD...dunno yet depends on how I find the 7200

Going to start with a single 8800, then prob get a second at the end of the summer, at £200 a pop can't really justify it on a students budget

    System = £823.13 ~ 1,636.32 USD
    Total (monitor + vistaOEM + decent keyboard and mouse) = £1152 ~ 2,290.07 USD

but it is only that much because the UK is a fucking rip for anything to do with electronics >.<<br />

    Stealth.
