I wonder what this means for the Australian arm of the company.
It's not really a big deal if they go under. Here is my local GAME stores competition all within walking distance of one another:
Ebgames + (There are 2 ebgames in the same complex for some reason).
Gamesmen +
Kmart
Target
BigW
Myers
JB HIFI +
Dick Smith Electronics
Harvey Norman
Domayne
+ = Sell used games
I only shopped at them as a last resort anyway. The games only retailers like ebgames, GAME, gamesmen have poor customer service and higher prices compaired to their competition.
What shits me about games only retailers:
They will price match if the item is in stock at another retailer cheaper, but why wouldn't I just goto the place thats offering it to me cheaper? Especially when the competition is ALWAYS cheaper. Gaming stores seem to never update the sticker price. Whatever the launch price is, thats the sticker that will stay on it until its sold. The price might change but the sticker won't, an I'm not going to ask staff every 5 seconds whats the real price on xyz? At least offer a customer price check scanner instore if you're gonna be lazy mother fuckers.
If they all went under I don't think I'd give a shit. I buy games mostly on PC these days and the PC selection at all stores tends to consist of WoW and sim city.
