Too Human has be in developed for 10 years and in 2008 it was released on the Xbox 360 and boy did every major gaming magazine site ripped this game a new asshole.
Before I start on this review I'm not going to touch that lawsuit bullshit between Silicon Knights and EPIC games over the unreal engine technology.

After playing this game for over a week now I have to say this game has a lot of potential and this game so desperately needs a sequel to finish this trilogy off.
Story 8/10
The story for this game is really good I was able to understand without too much difficulty but see how I don't much about Norse Mythology so I wasn't able to understand all the backstory on characters like Heimdall, Freya,Frey,Thor,Idunn,Try,Hel and even the main character Baldur.
These Asier(Norse Gods) all have their own talents and personality and role in the story. Their also references to great Serpent and Ymir who once walked the Earth and because of the war between Humans and the machine race Ymir cause the world to go into a nuclear winter and its up to the Asier to protect humanity and restore the world.
Their also 3 women who can see the future called the Norn who helps Baldur on his quest.
From left to right
Tyr, Frey, Old guy(they don't mention his name),Freya, Baldur(you the player character), Heimdall, Idunn, Thor and some other guy(never mention his name)
Here's another picture of Baldur
He is Odin's favorite son and the younger brother of Thor. Something happen to him and now he has these Blue glowing scars all over his face. He can't remember much of his past and his wife is missing. Baldur is tasked with mission to destroy the left overs of a Ancient machine race called "Ymir" and protect what is left of human population and restore the world back to order.
With the help of NORNs who let uses these wells that connect to "cyberspace" he will fulfill his duties.
But the God of mischief Loki will do all he can to stop Baldur and Asier's plan for restoring the world. He trying to find a ancient weapons from the old war to destroy the world and start Ragnarok.
Graphics 7.5/10
The graphics for this game does look good but they lack a certain polish compare to many other big budget games like Gears of war, Halo and Call of duty. its not bad but it feels like its lacking in overall graphical detail. Character models look great combing Norse Gods with sci-fi is a strange twist but it works quite well together and if you get a chance to look around the main base before missions you see the world is full NPCs and statues and wells and soldiers etc... Make this game feel alive. The cut scenes are all very well rendered and voice acting is great.
The actually places you go to fight do have a new nice architectural design but you won't get a chance to see because of all the combat and bad camera angles and no camera control either.
Sound 7/10

The voice acting for the major characters is very well done but the voice acting for minor characters in battle are not very good they repeat the same one liner over and over.
Baldur is voice by Crispin freeman and Loki is voice by Robert Picardo and Hod is voice by Steve Jay Blum.
The music is nice but it cuts in and out during battle I wish they game had more cut scenes to break up the extremely repetitive combat.
The music is good but sometimes during combat it cuts in and out.
Gameplay 5/10
Too Human gameplay footage

The gameplay for this game is what really hurts this game you start off by choosing what type of class you want you specialize in range or melee combat.
The worst part of the game play is that when you engage in a battle Baldur has a auto lock targeting system which what ever is closes to him he will target. So you could be getting mobbed on by a huge swarm of monster you want to attack the leader but instead Baldur will attack some low level monster instead.
All the combat is on the right stick depending how push the right stick Baldur will attack in that direction but thanks to a bad camera angles you will get attack off screen all the time. Range combat is also on the right stick pull back on the right trigger to fire and move the right thumb stick to aim. The targeting system for this game is horrible its best to focus your gun on one enemy or just spam your grenade launcher.
Did I mention enemies in this game level up with you so every time Baldur levels up so do the enemies which makes them eve harder to kill. When you level up you put points into melee, range, special skills they do help in battle but you still be using melee weapons the most because guns do shit for damage.
And also you will be picking up a bunch shit like weapons, armor and runes to sell back at home base. You can check which weapons in your inventory is better and you swap on the fly but some weapons might are only for higher levels or certain class types.
They don't explain the combat nor how to use any of your powers or how to equip runes or charms to your character I had to look up on the internet or look in the paper manual to find out how to do this shit.
This game does feel very rush and a bit unbalance you will fucking die a lot in this game. On your first play through you will die over a 100 times and once you do you get a achievement because the designers knew that you will die almost every 5 fucking minutes in this game. And you can't skip the death animation and their not much penalty for dying unless you die too much and all your armor breaks.
The cyberspace wells feel unfinished as well because their not much too do and you get a total of 4 powers(push, lift, fire and walk on water) you spend no more than 5-10 minutes looking for loot and a few simplistic puzzles that involve one of your powers you have gotten in your adventures in cyberspace.
But the one good thing about this game is online 2 player co-op makes the game much more fun and getting tons of new loot and customizing how your Baldur looks is great. And each Baldur is going to be different. Playing this game by your self is a test of endurance(it might be considered self-torture) but playing with a friend makes much easier to get through all the repetitive bullshit just to get one new weapon or armor piece that is better than what you have now.
The entire gameplay feels broken as if someone took this fragile gameplay and threw down the stairs and tried to glue it back together.
Overall 5.5/10
What more can I say about this game its a huge disappointment but yet I want a sequel to it. Silicon Knights did a great job at creating a new and interesting world but unfortunately the gameplay and no camera controls really cripples the overall gameplay experience for this game.
I would only recommend this game to only a few people here on the NoobToob. If your easily frustrated do not touch this game.
This is a game you may want to borrow from a friend who got suckered into buying this really bad game.
I know I have given some slack to games that had bad gameplay but I can't let this game slide. Maybe if Silicon Knights spent more time on the game instead of suing Epic or maybe Microsoft game studios should have force Silicon Knights to delay this game for about 5-8 more months this game could have been a triple A game.
In the end the final product is a waste of 10 years and we may never seen the end of the trilogy.
